How to copy and paste text messages on both iPhones and Android devices

COPY AND PASTE ON AN IPHONE:

  1. Open the Messages app: Tap on the Messages app icon on your iPhone’s home screen to open it.
  2. Navigate to the text message: Find the SMS message that you want to copy and paste in the conversation list.
  3. Long-press on the message: Long-press on the message you want to copy. After a moment, you should see the message bubble turn gray, and a menu will appear above it.
  4. Tap “Copy”: In the menu that appears, tap on “Copy.” The selected message will be copied to your iPhone’s clipboard.
  5. Open the destination app: Navigate to the app where you want to paste the copied message. It can be another messaging app, notes app, email, or any other app that allows pasting text.
  6. Long-press and tap “Paste”: Long-press on the text field of the destination app until the context menu appears. Tap on “Paste” from the context menu to paste the copied SMS message.

COPY AND PASTE ON AN ANDROID DEVICE:

  1. Open the Messages app: Tap on the Messages app icon to open the default SMS messaging app on your Android device.
  2. Navigate to the SMS message: Find the SMS message you want to copy and paste in the conversation list.
  3. Long-press on the message: Long-press on the message you want to copy. You should see the message highlighted, and options will appear at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap “Copy”: Look for the “Copy” option and tap on it. The selected message will be copied to your Android device’s clipboard.
  5. Open the destination app: Navigate to the app where you want to paste the copied message. It could be another messaging app, notes app, email, or any other app that supports text input.
  6. Long-press and tap “Paste”: Long-press on the text field of the destination app until a pop-up menu appears. Tap on “Paste” from the pop-up menu to paste the copied SMS message.

Please note: the steps may vary slightly depending on the specific model of your iPhone or Android device and the version of the operating system it’s running. However, the general process for copying and pasting text remains similar across most devices.
