How to take screenshots on mobile devices
ANDROID:
- Locate the buttons: You’ll need to find the power button and volume down button. They’re usually located on the right side of your phone.
- Press and hold: Simultaneously press and hold both the power button and volume down button for a couple of seconds.
- Confirmation: You’ll see a brief animation or hear a shutter sound, and a thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the corner of your screen.
- Access and edit: You can access the screenshot from your phone’s gallery or photos app. You can also edit it directly there, crop it, or share it with others.
iOS:
- Identify your iPhone model: The screenshot method differs slightly depending on whether your iPhone has a Home button or not.
• For iPhones with a Home button (iPhone 8 and earlier): Press and hold the Home button and power button simultaneously for a second.
• For iPhones without a Home button (iPhone X and later): Press and quickly release the side button and volume up button together. - Confirmation: Similar to Android, you’ll see a quick flash and hear a shutter click. A screenshot thumbnail will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen.
- Access and edit: You can access the screenshot from your Photos app. You can edit, crop, or share it from there as well.
Additional notes: Some Android phones, such as Samsung Galaxy models, may have slightly different screenshot combinations. You can consult your phone’s manual or search online for the specific model.
